First Bangla School

There was a great need to establish a Bangla School in Korea since the sharp increase in the Bangladeshi community recently. Currently, about 20500 Bangladeshi are living in South Korea, and among them, about 1050 families are available, and almost 550 families are with children. The age of the children are 5 to 9 years; thus, children need to go to school according to Korean law. But unfortunately, many parents dislike sending their children to Korean schools because of language barriers and religious activity.

Realizing the community’s need, Bangladesh Community School, Korea (BCSK) has started its journey in South Korea by inaugurating on 28th August 2022. They had a successful grand opening with overwhelming support and a response from the Bangladeshi community.  First, the Chairman and Vice Principal of BCSK, Dr. Kamrul Hasan, took this initiative. Then, the Principal, Prof. Dr. Mnawar Hussain, all other governing body members, community representatives, and the student’s guardian worked together to establish the BCSK.  We all believe that language and Bangladesh culture are the first identities that identify an individual. Language connects you back to your roots and historical background as well.

This is the only Bangla School that is available right now in South Korea. Online line Classes are held every Saturday morning and weekdays in the evening. School is offering, Pre-Primary, Class 1, and Class 2 at present. In addition, we are at present teaching Bangla, English, Math, and religious studies. Besides these subjects, we are also offering special English Club classes by a native English speaker, where the student can learn speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
